In today’s episode, Amanda sits down and get high (shout out legal weed!) with actor, writer, improvisor, producer Aurora Browne (Baroness Von Sketch Show, Newborns Moms, The Writer’s Block) to discuss how she knows when a set was hot, bits of Canadian history, and deciding Season 5 would be the final one for Baroness Von Sketch Show. You may know Aurora best from the award-winning series Baroness Von Sketch Show, which she created and stars in alongside Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeil, and Jennifer Whalen. She is a Second City mainstage alum, and has won tons of awards for Acting, Writing, and Producing, including a Canadian Comedy Award and multiple Canadian Screen Awards. She stars in ABC’s comedy digital series Newborn Moms and the comedy series Writer’s Block, which she also writes for. You can also catch her in an upcoming episode of Odd Squad.

Wednesday Nov 11, 2020
In today’s episode, Amanda sits down over some fire ciders with creator and body-positivity advocate Sean Taylor to discuss her experience on Netflix’s the Circle, S.A.D. lamps, and how to ethically enjoy reality TV. Sean is a creator and body-positivity advocate currently residing in New York City. She has worked in fashion as both a plus-size fashion blogger and social media manager, and now creates her own content across her various online platforms. Sean was also a contestant on Netflix’s hit reality competition show The Circle, and as a huge reality show fan herself, Amanda desperately tries to not fan girl to hard (and fails).

Ep. 25 - Tricia Black
Wednesday Oct 21, 2020
Wednesday Oct 21, 2020
In today’s episode, Amanda sits down over some Guinness with actor, writer, and singer-songwriter Tricia Black (Second City Toronto’s Mainstage 83rd/84th Reviews, Kim’s Convenience, The Broken Hearts Gallery) to discuss figuring out your personal brand, our warped expectations of celebrities, and having shows shut down because of COVID. She was a cast member of Second City Toronto’s 83rd and 84th mainstage review, as well as their first-ever, all-female show, the award-winning She The People. She is a two-time Canadian Comedy Award winner, and can be seen on screen in Kim’s Convenience, What We Do In The Shadows, and The Broken Hearts Gallery. She is also the Artistic Producer of a Broadway World award-winning theatre company Tweed & Company where she writes and composes new Canadian musical works. This summer Tricia launched her podcast One More Round with Tricia Black, a weekly comedy podcast where she sits down and has a drink (or two) with people she wants to get to know, people that inspire her, and friends who she adores. I had the pleasure of being a guest on her podcast, so go take a listen!
Tricia would like to highlight Egale. They are Canada’s leading organization for LGBTQI2S people and issues. They improve and save lives through research, education, awareness & legal advocacy. Find out more about Egale at www.egale.ca!
